Welcome back to the Grind!
|
It’s September, and in most Western cultures that means: Back to work! Back to School! Back to the Grind of Daily Life! Are you ready?
|
I guess, if you have ever worked in an office, you know the typical phrases: « Well, I guess, it’s back to work ». Those sentences where the (non-existent) enthusiasm really drips out and the frustration of the comeback of the daily grind takes over.
|
At the same time, coming back to the routines of daily life can have a calming effect on your life. You know how things run. There’s an effortlessness, like floating through life on your pool noodle.
|
For me, personally, I know both sides very well. Routine is the backbone I run on. Break my routines and find me completely exhausted just from of getting out of bed. At the same time, too much routine and no newness gets me tangled in boredom.
|
September is a fascinating month, because suddenly the whole world is trying to balance the freeform lightness of summer with the reality and the structure of your routines.

Speaking of routines and free-form, our monthly Change Trust will take place on September 25th and I hope you help me out with new thoughts on our regular monthly meeting of the class :)
