It's getting dark, it's getting colourful!
|
A few years ago, I spent a weekend in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was really shitty weather, it was really cold - "perfect" weather for a weekend city getaway! And yet, I remember this trip quite fondly. I was there with a dear friend and we had a great time, not despite the weather, but precisely because of it! One thing the Nordic countries have mastered is this: when the weather outside gets really uncomfortable, the life inside is being cozied up! And so we went from cute cafe to cute cafe and had the time of our lives over hot coffee and deep conversations.

I've been reminded of that trip recently because after a really excellent summer, over the weekend we got our first winter storm of the season with high winds and heavy rain. It allowed for life to move inwards, physically, but also mentally. Time to just sit with a good cuppa, watch the rain cover the window, and allow your thoughts to just wander. What a treat!

I am looking forward to the coming months. When nature lays to rest, collecting meaningful energy to come back alive in spring, I have the mental capacity to bloom in all the colours of the rainbow. While the outside world gets dark and grey, my inside world can explode like a color bag being thrown during Holi Festival! Not every recovery needs active rest. Sometimes you just need nature to do its thing.
